The development has a number of innovative elements both in terms of design and the construction process involved, for example the design concept allows residents, commuters and visitors to arrive by boat, therefore reducing congestion on local roads. The canal will also be used to transport materials to site. An underfloor air-conditioning system that will use ground water to cool the building and solar panels for generating electricity.
The design of 6 Orsman Road unites the historic waterside location with its requisite modern function. The aesthetic combination of wood, glass and water aids a reflective and fluid element to the development.
